BÁRBARA ASSIS PACHECO 1973, Lisbon Lives and works in Lisbon. Holds a BA in Arquitecture (FAUTL, Lisbon), a second BA in Philosophy (FCSH-UNL, Lisbon). In between her two university courses, she studied Drawing and took the Advanced Course in Visual Arts, at AR.CO (Lisbon). Bárbara Assis Pacheco took part in the first edition of the Photography Course of the Gulbenkian Creativity and Artistic Creation Programme (PGCCA), and in the artistic residency O Sítio das Artes at the Centre for Modern Art of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon. She makes drawings and takes photographs, and her work has been often exhibited. Bárbara is represented in both private and institutional collections, in Portugal and abroad. “it is a direct and literal approach, as I am. However, in my works, there is also room for the perverse, the irony, the subtle, and the humor. They emerge because of their occurrence in life, as experiences permeated within the family circle.
